Banggai Cardinalfish

The geographic range of distribution of these fish is restricted to the Banggai Islands of Indonesia. They feed on plankton and/or crustaceans. Juveniles live in small groups. When they become adults, they live in pairs. In terms of breeding, it is the male which incubates the eggs in his mouth for around 25 days. Throughout this period he doesn’t eat a thing! These Banggai Cardinalfish are bred in the aquarium.
